David Bearden
Susan, wonderful image...great colors...before the President's Plane was called Air Force One (after a near mid-air collision) the planes that flew the President were named: Harry Truman's, naturally, was The Independence. Mamie Eisenhower's family was from Denver. Since the state flower of Colorado is the Columbine, that was the name chose as the plane's name for Dwight Eisenhower's plane. (TMI ?) F/V
Sue Capuano replied:
That is really interesting, never new anything about the naming of the presidential planes, definately not TMI. Thanks for the info and the F/V Dave, much appreciated! :-)
